CK's Summer Fun & Travel and a GIVEAWAY
CK's latest special issue, Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks: Summer Fun & Travel, is finally here!!!
Here's the cover of the 90-page special issue filled with 254 scrapbook layouts and tips!!! I lave gone through my copy quite a few times already and can't decide on my favorites yet... I'm loving Deena Wuest's cover for sure and Cindy Tobey's article about using scenic photos. Every time I look at Guiseppa Gubler's "Lombard Street", it puts a smile on my face. You have to see how cleverly she used her photos! And here's one of my pages about our visit to the aquarium.
Check the issue out at the Scrap and Paper shop and a sneak preview. You can use Coupon code: CKFUN10 for free shipping in the US on all orders of $25 or more by 8/8/11.
You can find fantastic downloads, tips, and ideas from the issue here.
And if you wish to win a copy of this fun issue, you can leave a comment to this post by 7/31/2011 describing how you store your summer memorabilia before scrapping them. On 8/1/2011, I'll be picking one random winner to whom CK will send a copy of Summer Fun & Travel!
Good luck :)

Gummy worms and cup of dirt
After karate lesson last night, we didn't feel like eating dinner at home. So we stopped at TGI Fridays in the same plaza. And Om had a Cup of Dirt for dessert!!! Nini and I were happy with more traditional choices :)

Home
I'm home... exhausted yet renewed and refreshed!
The Glitz girls... they are SO NICE and SO PRETTY !!!
My Faber-Castell workshop where we were supposed to have 75 students but ended up having 90. Thanks to everyone who came to play!
The Glitz girls... they are SO NICE and SO PRETTY !!!
We went to dinner at Bistro11 and saw the Hershey's across from street.
Here's the super cute and sweet Megan Hoeppner, CK's Creative Editor rubbing the belly of this little cut out boy at the Doodlebug Booth.
It was so much fun to see my friends again and meet new ones. I roomed with Jen and learned a lot about the busines of wine even though I never drink. Just because we wanted to hang out a little longer, we left for the airport together and even though we had no time left to just sit and chill, we dragged our tired bodies and luggage from one end of the airport to the other... together :)

CHA
Going on the 18th to be back on 21st night.
If you are going too, please stop by the Faber Castell booth on the 19th and 20th between 4 & 6 pm to say hi or maybe we'll run into each other as we walk the floor :) It's always fun to meet online friends in person.
Will blog when I get back!

Hi Mou,
Couldn't find your email, so I'm posting my question here.
The upcoming class your teaching next month or so, will it be available as kit? Live to far to attend :-(.

Answer: Char, thanks for your interest. Unfortunately, given the technique-based nature of this class, it cannot be made into a complete kit. However, please feel free to email me at mou_s51@yahoo.com if you have any other question related to this project.
Answer: Hi Deb, thanks! I'll be teaching a mixed media class at CHA Summer in Chicago on the 7/19 for Faber-Castell. But I'm told that it's sold out.
You can email me at mou_s51@yahoo.com if you wish to discuss future teaching arrangements
Happy Thursday :)
And now to answer a couple of questions that were asked in the comment section in the past few weeks...

Revisiting watercolor
For the last few days, I had been playing with watercolor again. Watercolor makes me happy... in fact, painting in general does... a hobby that took a backseat after the kids were born. I needed a more forgiving medium that did not dry while I was gone, something that stayed as is and I could revisit and alter and that's when I found scrapbooking. Learned a few things along the way... then, I wanted to experiment with collage and watercolor, not acrylic and this is what I have... memories of Sunday mornings bygone...

I stamped the post card onto the solid side of the Love Games Damask paper. Then I drew a fish on it, colored it, cut it out and used it as an accent.
